WHAT IS THE SLASHIE WINE CLUB???
The Slashie Wine Club is arguably the best (I think it is, Matt agrees with me) wine club going round. It’s a way to keep your home supplied with great wine, either by subscribing to get regular deliveries or as one off (but still regular right?) purchases.
Why is it the best? No other club has the combined powers of two sommeliers with award winning palates sharing the wines they make and they wines they buy for themselves at home, in packs that with pricing that benefits you from what might be called "vinous insider training"
Bloody hell, if I was me I’d want one!
THIS SEASON'S WINES
2010 Allram Grüner Veltliner ‘Strasstaler’
Grüner can be described as being like a cross between Riesling and Sauvignon Blanc, or Riesling and Pinot Gris. It’s a native Austrian variety and the most widely planted grape in that country. It’s rare to find an aged one and so we’re pretty pumped to be able to share an exceptional example like this – full of citrussy crispness, a silky texture and almost meaty spice.
2017 Athletes Of Wine 'Alto! Alto!!' Rosé
Our first ever still rosé, and the depth of colour belies its freshness. It remains a smart option in the unpredictable Spring weather. We treat it like a really, really, really, really light red wine– it can just as easily go with roasted beetroot salad, full flavoured fish dishes or lighter meats on the BBQ.
2009 Athletes Of Wine Macedon Edge Pinot Noir
WOWEE! Back to where it all began, our second year in the vineyard but our first ever crop, due to the site being ravaged by drought and neglect. So proud of the long hours spent getting it in some shape of health. A warm year, so a Pinot Noir with some power and weight, and a bit of tannin too. This is Pinot Noir for steak!
